Overview

This Safari is specifically tailored to cover Lake Mburo National Park which is located in Western Uganda. On this wild breathtaking adventure, you will experience game drives at Lake Mburo National park which is Uganda’s smallest park. Lake Mburo Park has got a vast ecosystem, there are Rocky Ridges and forested gorges, Narrow bands of lush, riparian woodland and much more. Like many lakes, this has been an addition to the formation of beautiful sceneries hence attracting tourists to come and see the hidden treasures of the park.

The park harbors 68 mammal species though it does not have elephants and lions. The fact that there are no lions gives tourists a chance to freely move close to the animals.The park has got a wide range of birds which include rare shoebill, Stork, African finfoot, pelican, heron among others. Lake Mburo is also well known for the impala, zebra, eland, buffalo, deffasa water back, hyena,leopard, reed back and so many others.

Itinerary

DAY1. TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

To begin this unforgettable expedition, you will be picked up by a company guide from the airport or hotel depending on your arrival time in Uganda and embark on a long drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the journey will take 3-4 hours. Your first stop over will be at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time, take beautiful pictures and also have some nice breakfast. You will continue your journey to Lake Mburo where you will have lunch. later in the afternoon, go for a game drive in the evening. Return to the lodge for an overnight.

DAY2. EARLY MORNING NATURE WALK & AFTERNOON BOAT RIDE

You will have early morning breakfast, then the game park guides will lead to different walking trails in the park. This walk will give you an up close encounter with most animals in the park including Elands, Impalas, Klipspringer, Buffaloes, Bush pigs, Zebras and so many others. The park is also a superb destination for birding safaris in Uganda. It holds over 350 bird species including Shoebill stork, African finfoot, Papyrus gonolek, Grey crowned crane and African fish eagle among many others which you will have a chance to encounter during this early morning nature walk. This activity will be for 2-3 hours either on foot or bicycles depending on what is okay for you then you will return to the lodge to rest for an hour, have lunch then head out for the boat ride. During the boat ride on Lake Mburo, you will see a variety of animals including Crocodiles, Hippos, Buffaloes and birds like African fish eagle, Pied kingfisher, Waterbucks and many more. After the boat ride, the guide will drive you around to spot some of the animals you might have missed in the morning then head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY3. TRANSFER BACK TO ENTEBBE

After breakfast, say farewell to the lodge staff and drive back to Entebbe. You will be dropped off at the airport
